What can cause muscles to have spasms, and is it serious?

Question:

Answers:
Dehydration, overuse, low potassium, calcium or magnesium. Usually it is not serious. Try eating a banana and drinking plenty of water. If you've been exercising regularly, maybe take a day off.
One cause could be a build up of Lactic acid...basically the same chemicle compound found in sour milk...your body produces it after sports and if you do not "cool down" you stand a greater chance of your body not processing it out as fast.
Many things. Anemia, low potassium levels, spinal chord injury, many auto immune conditions and medication to name a few.
anything from being dehydrated to simply moving the wrong way. Muscle spasms in themselves are not serious, but it could be a sign of other stuff, ask your doctor!
fatigue, drink tonic water it has quinine in it that will solve your trouble
When muscles are fatigued they contract. Try drinking potassium water and eat some food with magnesium like fish.
Trauma, also.
