Deformed toe?

Question:
I've got a deformed toe (next to the big toe on my r foot) where the first knuckle closed to the foot wont go any straighter than a right angle and the second knuckle is double-jointed so that it bends the wrong way to compensate for the bend of the first.

It doesnt hurt exactly but it is a bit uncomfortable sometimes and looks gross. However I cant wear high heels because my toe wont pick up at the right angle and gets pushed under my foot - that hurts!

Does anyone else have the same thing? Is there anything that can be done? Has anyone had theirs fixed and what is it like afterwards?

Answers:
Start with talking to a doctor.

In the meantime, try taping the wonky toe to its neighbor so it doesn't slide under, and wear closed toe shoes to see if you can work the heels without your toe giving you problems.

There are remedies out there for "hammer toe" which is where one toe tends to overlap the one next to it...you could try looking into what's available there.
I am sure it could be corrected by an Orthopaedic surgeon.
Good luck!
