DON"T SCRATCH!! I had them when I was 14 and it sucked so bad it was awful. Make sure you drink plenty and dont scratch as that will prolong the ichy feelings. good luck
Cant' get rid of chicken pox faster. Just ride it out and use something to stop the itch. I think the best thing is baby diaper creme (zinc cream).
Because Chicken Pox (Varicella) is a virus, you can not just get rid of it. It is an abiotic (nonliving) factor that lies dormant and only thrives and reproduces when conditions are favorable for that action. You will just have to allow it to run its course. However, taking a bath in oatmeal and when dry rubbing calamine lotion all over will relieve some of the itch.
Any illness is divided into 3 stages
prodromal-you have it but don't know you have it
active-you know you have it-chicken pox rash
recovery-spots drying up
In chicken pox the spots give the diagnosis. The most infectious time is before the spots come out.
when the spots have come out you can use anti virals but they only shorten the natural history of the disease by a few days. They are more indicated in vulnerable groups.A group who is of particular concerned would be pregnant with chickenpox.
It is now a preventable with a varicella vaccine-offered to all children
There is no way I'm sorry to say. But here is something you need to know. Once the virus that causes the disease enters your body and you get the chicken pox that virus will remain dormant in your body within your spinal fluid. Many years from now in adulthood that virus can return again in the form of another sickness called shingles. It is 10 times more painful than chicken pox and can last for YEARS. It's actually pretty common. The good news is that it's is preventable. Only within the last couple of years modern science has come up with a way to prevent this from happening but you MUST go to your doctor and request the injection. You can spare yourself a great deal of pain and suffering if you do this. Anyone who has had chicken pox can keep from ever getting shingles by this simple injection but it is not well known about.
