She should stay in the presence of her parents for a bare minimum of 1 hour after meals. After that, she could be released to her room, but no bathroom breaks without supervision for at least 1 additional hour.
i'd say at least a good hour or so. - but I don't know for sure.
i found the people at the individual clinic for eating disorders in bath to be very helpful - you could give them a call?
i wold watch her for up to 1 hour... also watch because people who are bulimic also can take laxatives to make them lighter faster. So watch for going to the washroom alot
All depends, On the food
If you ate meat, you could throw it up after even 12 hours, as meat takes longer to digest,
It's somebody else, it always is. Bulimia is an emotional disorder and requires professional help.
less than an hour.
It takes two hour's for your stomach to empty and digest the food, then all she can throw up is gunk and stuff her body doesn't need, like pips from an apple etc, so keep an eye on her for about 2 hours and 30 mins maybe? Hope she is better soon and gets over this illness bulimia.
Digestion in the stomach is approx 4 hours, I seem to remember.
I don't know the answer, but please try to get your sister to get professional help if she has not already. Obviously she is the person who needs to want to change.
It's great that you are there to support her, but if she doesn't get help to address the underlying illness the problem will be back when she is not supervised.
Hi,
I am sorry to say this and i mean no offence but it sounds like you have Bulimia. You don't need to learn about throwing up, you need help with some emotional problem that you are not admitting
I don't think there is a set answer. Miso soup - gone before you can blink. Pizza and chicken - comes up in vast amounts of solid, satisfying clumps hours later. I think it depends on what was eaten.
