How Do You Get the Hick Up's?

Question:
I have them right now, and I was just wondering what goes on in your body that makes you have the hick up's?

Answers:
Hiccups happen when a spasm contracts the diaphragm. The spasm causes an intake of breath that is suddenly stopped by the closure of the vocal cords. This causes the hiccup sound. This can happen by eatting too fast, drinking too much alcohol, swallowing too much air, and stress and excitement. You can read more about hiccups including treatment here

its a spasm of your diaphragm so drink water that will stimulate it and help to ease them
Hiccups occur when your diaphragm becomes irritated and spasms.
your diaphragm is a little bit out of place and it will correct itself. Interesting, eh.
Hiccups are caused when your diaphragm contracts involuntarily. This can be caused by a variety of reasons, including sudden movement or irregular breathing.
Wow thats a really good question. Excess oxygen in the blood. Thats all i know about it. hope that helps. :]
i've always been taught that it's either drinking too much water or not enough. but if you want to get rid of them, get some water in your mouth and bend over so your head is upside down and then swallow. works everytime.
It's more specifically a mild form of heartburn that upsets your diaphragm... then it spasms (which is a hiccup).

There are a TON of remedies that people try, but there doesn't seem to be one that works the same with every single person, unfortunately :(
when your body is ran out of water, the hiccup is an error that your body need water, you either drink a glass of water or stop breathing a while then breath again, when you can't hold it anymore, and then your hiccup is gone, that what my friend show me.
