Could i be making my allergys worse?

Question:
i have a minor allergy to cats, i just get a very itchy rash. I still see my freinds cats and i just put cream on my arms to stop it itching, and wash my hand after stroking them. someone told me i could be making it worse, expecially as i have asthma which is set of by an allergic reaction to dust.

Answers:
Just wwashing your hands may not be enough. The cat hair is still on you and you and your friends bring it into your home of your/their clothing. Also I read that it is their saliva as well as hair and dandruff that may be causing the allergy. So they lick their fur, you pet them, your hands touch your clothes, other items and just washing your hands will not take care of this. You should probably change clothes as soon as you get home and wash off whatever else you had with you. Also remember that the dandruff is small and can be airborne and you are inhaling it. Hope this helps
No, as long as you are treating the area the cat touched, then you should be fine. Cat's are not made of dust, so therefore they cannot make your breathing allergies worse.
