Catnip is very beneficial for humans, it can be eaten raw or drank in tea, it calms the nerves. I have heard also of uses of catnip in many recipes as well. Look up google you will definitely find more broad information there!

I don't think it has any effect on humans. You could probably make a catnip cigarette and feel nothing (although I wouldn't recommend it). I find the odor of catnip offensive but still have to sprinkle it out on my cats bed just because I like watching him roll around in it.

I've eaten catnip, and it tastes like a mix between thyme and lawn grass. I suffered no medical problems from it.
I was watching a documentary on catnip, and apparently only 75% of cats have the specific reaction to catnip that causes the unusual behavior they display. The rest of cats have no reaction at all.
