I have a BAD pain under my chest on the left side, i can barly breathe. is it a broken rib?

Could be a broken rib, angina attack, heart attack, damaged lung, blocked artery or many other things. go to your doctor or A+E if it's really bad

Broken rib sounds like a reasonable possibility, as does pleurisy,.

might be a pleural infection - hurts a lot when you breathe in especially - the pleura becomes inflamed and causes discomfort when you breathe in. This causes shortness of breath and so on - I had this last year - I thought I was having a heart attack... Thte doctor gave me some antibiotics and it cleared up
Without having more information, it's impossible to say.
When did it start? What were you doing? Did you hit something/hit you? Can you reproduce the pain by pushing on your chest? Is it sharp or dull? Does it radiate anywhere? Any cardiac history? Any similar instances of this pain?
Chest pain with shortness of breath could be a sign of an acute myocardial infarction... aka Heart Attack. Take two baby aspirin (162 mg total) and call for EMS.
Many agencies can do a 12-lead EKG in the field to get a better idea of what is happening, as well as fast access to first line medications, such as Nitro. Call your local emergency number (911 in the US). Better safe than sorry in this case.
I am guessing its a broken/cracked rib or it could be a muscle.
Please go to a local Dr. it could be something much worst.
