I had one and I just called it painful ... don't remember it having a name but it had got infected due to a lack of blood flow and constant re-breaking.
Or you could be talking about 'floating grissle' (aka - sequestrum ) - when a bit of bone is chipped and is simply suspended in fluid ... I have a few of them as well - Yuck!
