Answers:
It is possible you use too much hand lotion. You can make your skin get so accustomed to it that it just dries out again as soon as you use it. Try not using hand lotion for a few days.
try vaseline
You might need something stronger prescribed by a doctor.
u should get this lotion:lotion lubriderm its stays on u for 24 hours and it really works for me try it cuz even before i had dry skin but i put this lotion and my problem went away but put alot ok and when u take a shower it well come off ....

good luck
have a soft skin like me
I used to have really dry hands, especially the tops, but after I started taking fish oil, this helped 100%. My hands were so dry, they were flaky and gray, but after about 30 days on fish oil, it totally changed my skin.
I also exfoliate them too. I use about 1/4 cup of sugar mixed with some oil (body oil or baby oil) so it forms a paste, then rub it all over my hands. (then rinse)
Vaseline is a good idea and they make little gloves that you can wear at night- w/ the vaseline. Or for during the day try Vaseline Problem Skin Therapy lotion my friend has exzema and that's what she uses to prevent it.
Well how often are you washing your hands? do you have your hands in water alot or use harsh chemicals. If you are washing dishes alot or doing alot of cleaning use gloves because having your hands in water alot or using chemicals removes the natural oils from your skin that keeps them from getting too dry.
also Mary Kay has a great hand treatment that helps remove dry dead skin and the moisturizing lotion really helps rehydrate your hands.
For a quick fix right away, at night when you go to bed put on lotion for extra dry skin ( you can also try the vaseling too but I think it feels so bad) don't rub it all in, use alot and put a pair of socks over your hands. Do this while your sleeping because then you aren't touching anything to get lotion on it and the socks keep the lotion from getting everywhere. You can even do this for dry feet.
Hope this helps!
This sounds gross, but if your hands are the main problem, try lathering up with cooking shortening once a day.
Also, it sounds like you could be handling soap or something in the course of your day that effects your hands? Keep tabs on what your handling and change some brands around.
If its an emergency and you need your hands to soften up in a hurry, you can coat them in Vaseline and cover them in baggies over night. NOT surgical gloves! They fit too tight and can kill skin tissue after a whole night! You want to create humidity is all. Don't cut off circulation, its better to have the baggies fall off then to wake up with two rotting hands! :)
try moisture therapy lotion.
try using dove soap and then put on some callogyne elastine lotion you could also try putting lotion on at night and putting gloves on for overnight thats what avon ladies do.
then just take the gloves off in the morning
