Does Lyme's disease affect my ability to donate??

Question:
A few years ago I was helping my uncle bring his hay in ARkansas about 10 years back and I got bit by 5 ticks in those 2 days. One month later I was in the ER with 105F fever. There was a few cases on meningitis in my area of the state so they did a lumbar puncture as well as blood tests, because I did not have any rashes. When the tests came back; I had Lyme's disease, Rocky Mountin spotted tick fever, and Mononucleosis (bad water fountain, I didn't get it from the popular name for it). I'm clear of the bacteria and virus in question, but I do have the antibodies for Lyme's and the syndrome that follows.
I would like to try donating blood and possibly getting on the bone marrow donor list.
I believe that my blood type is in great demand (O --) and I could help a lot of people, but I don't want to hurt anybody with this, I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

thank you for your time;
bdraft

Answers:
Call your local blood center and ask them! They are happy to answer any questions. I'm a regular donor, and I don't recall any questions on the screening test regarding exposure to Lyme disease. They are mostly concerned with HIV, hepatitis, etc and the high risk behaviors associated with them. If you have the universal cell donor type, O neg, you are definitely in demand! Mine is the rarest--AB neg--and I'm the universal donor for plasma, the liquid portion.
