Possibly a doctor question. Infection induced weight loss....?

Question:
I had my femur operated on years ago. After the accident that I'd had, that created the need for a leg extension, I put on about three stone in weight. Following my operation, the bone became infected; with the 'only' symptom being very rapid weight loss. I lost three stone in three weeks! Since then I've been curious, could a bone infection be given to somebody, possibly with a doctor induced fracture, to enable them to lose weight rapidly? This is a genuine question, because I think it could work.

Answers:
infection is nothing to play around with. there are better and faster ways of losing weight than breaking bones. there are plenty of drugs and hormones that will reduce bodyfat super fast. the drug companies cant profit if everybody is healthy. so they are illegal.
Yes but it could also kill you. Is your life worth three stone?
You are a bright individual and a creative thinker. I respect that.
That having been said, this would be a dangerous way to lose weight. A rapid loss such as yours is not at all healthy. In addition, bone infections can be difficult and dangerous to treat. Clearly, you had a good outcome, and I am happy for you. Any doctor, though, that would use this a a weight loss method would lose his/her license for malpractice.
The infection may have been easily treatable for you, but different people handle infections differently, plus there's all the pain and discomfort that comes with infections. No sane doctor would put a patient through that.
