Seems to me that you might be allergic to Advil. What you had was an allergic reaction which could have been very serious. Check with your Dr., tell him/her what happened. What liquid did you use to help swallow the pills? Be careful.
Until you find out what you are allergic to...don't use Advil again.
the times that i have taken advil i have never had any problem,i usually will use ibuprofen

I never have had a problem with it but me 3 year old grandson is allergic to it.
He had to have surgery about 18 months ago and I told them that he was allergic to it but they said he was more than likely allergic to the dyes in it. So they gave him some of the dye free, he still had a very bad reaction to it and can not ever take it again.

Some individuals develop allergies to about almost anything at anytime of life, so it sounds as if you have developed an allergy to ibuprofen. Use an alternative NSAID. Either over the counter or prescription. If that happens again you will need to seek medical attention because you do not want to go into anaphylactic shock, which could plummet you blood pressure dangerously low, causing you to pass out, or cause your trachea to swell and close, causing you to pass out from lack of air. Either situation would be hazardous for human survival! I ate crab the entire time of my last pregnancy and had no problem with it. A year later, BAM, every time I ate crap I develop hives. I also developed an allergy to IVP dye, used during a CAT scan. I had to get a prescription for an EPI Pen, so if I had that issue again I could self inject with epinephrine. I also have a bad allergy to latex and I worked as an OR tech, so I could not come in contact with anything latex. That even goes for a latex condom, which I had a bad reaction to. Can you imagine having an allergic reaction right after sex, and instead of sensing a medical emergency, they guy is thinking he did something big because you're wheezing and writhing around because you're having trouble breathing? Happen to me, so be careful!
