How can i get rid of constipation?
Question:
I know you all say fibre...but what else?
thanks
Answers:
try stool softeners like colace, or even a pill called bisacodyl, they both work really well
other than that - fiber like you said-shredded wheat, other fiber cereals, apple juice or prune juice
prune juice
vacum out the poop
you could take an over the counter stool softener. Ducolax or something similar.
good luck! hopefully you sort it out soon! :)
go to this website for tips: http://digestive.niddk.nih.gov/ddiseases...
Lots of water and nuts.peanuts, cashews, etc. Also, bran flakes at night before you go to bed.
eat a diet high in fiber - whole grain breads, lots of fruits and vegetable. try to get daily exercise. drink lots of water. sometimes a cup of coffer will stimulate your colon. take time when you try to have a movement. you may want to try a stool softener, not a laxative. if it persists, you should see a doctor.
eat about seven prunes a day or drink one cup of prune juice.
prune juice
apples with the skins
salads of greens.
whole grain breads
whole grain cereal
and water. is your best friend.
Watch cheese. and processed foods. they tend to constipate you more.
magnesium supplements or prune juice, but not too much.
For more gradual effect, dried, pitted prunes daily (-they're easier on you than the juice) and a magnesium supplement. 80% of americans are said to be magnesium-defficient and I've read that drinking sodas increases the problem as the phosphorus in the sodas messes up magnesium levels in the body. Magnesium is extremely important to health, like calcium is. Also, not eating lots of foods that swell (white flour foods) is helpful: try eating things that shrink up inside, instead, like fruits & vegetables. Drink enough water, too.
Go talk to your local pharmacist, they can recommend what you need.
Ummmm...odd.
Things that contribute to constipation: not enough fluids, not enough fibre, food sensitivities.
If this is a one-time thing, consider just upping your fluids and fibre (whole grains, fresh vegetables and fruits) for a few days. Or if you're really desperate, try exlax or some other laxative.
If it's a chronic issue and you're fairly sure you're getting enough fibre, you could still try taking extra daily fibre (Metamucil or a pill) or remove the common culprit in constipation: dairy. Many people have a dairy sensitivity that causes constipation. You might need to go a week or more without dairy to see if there's an improvement, though.
this might seem weird to you but actually if u go sqatting on with your feet copletely touching the groung, hugging ur knees and leaning a little to your left u will evecuate ur bowel content totally.
The clients I see/myself have better results with the following...rather than icky - tasting prune juice:
100% carrot juice (2 -3 or more glasses-- can find it in refrigerator section of grocery or health food stores), WATER, WATER, WATER and as much of a can of plain (no sugar etc.) = packed pumpkin as you can eat. ADD: lots of walking/exercise to "get things moving" and take two capsules of flax seed oil (available at any health food store and some grocery stores) 2 - 3 times a day. Continue with the above until problem is rectified.
*Ultra - important to drink plenty of water/walk along with everything else*
