i think people definately are different when they are drinking, some people become more braver, daring and riskier than what they would normally be when sober and some people become more violent. memory lapses are normally because they have drank far too much and just cannont remember doing certain things the morning after.
I hope I remember answering this question when I sober up.
If you are having regular spells of memory loss after binge drinking, then it is harming your brain. It is time you reduced your drinking, if not stop it altogether.
From personal experience I can tell you that you are aware and know what you are doing. But I won't say that you are in control, as you tend to do things you may regret later on.
Binge drinking was the cause of my getting a cerebral stroke. So it is not really worth it.
When you drink you do not make new memories, so there's no way to get back memories from a night out! Alcohol suppresses inhibitions, so people are probably more likely to do things they want to do sober, but don't.
when i drink, i do tend to say things i wouldnt normally say if i wasnt drunk. but i always remember what i said. i also know what i am doing, only i get more guts to do it. i have never blacked out or anything.
