The area between my upper eyelid and my eyebrow has been puffy the last few day?
Question:
When you look at my left eye, I look like Asian, but my right one is normal.
Answers:
With your eye, the problem is *probably* either an allergic reaction to an irritant or an infection (unless you injured it, but you’d have mentioned that).
First, take a couple of antihistamine tablets (such as Benadryl). If that takes care of the problem, you know the cause and you can continue to dose yourself for a few days. If the problem persists, it’s time to see your doctor.
If the Benadryl *doesn’t* have any effect, the problem is most likely an infection. In this case, you should make an appointment with your doctor quickly. You don’t want an eye infection to progress. Before your appointment, write down any symptoms you’re having besides puffiness. Discharge? Redness? Itching? Burning? He or she will need to know.
Finally, do NOT touch your puffy eye and then touch the healthy one. If there’s an infection, that’s sure to spread it.
