What's the best way to overcome the fear of eyedrops?

My question is: What's the best way to overcome fear of eyedrops? Should I sprinkle water in my eye to prepare myself, close my eye and ask the eye dr. to put it in the corner and then I open my eye or what?

Hmm, I hate eyedrops also. If possible, try not to think about it at all. If not...then try getting over the counter saline eye drops and have a friend put them in your eyes...try out different ways that make you feel comfortable. Do not use water as it could cause an infection.
Ok what you do is go to a drug store and get a tiny droplet bottle of saline solution, something like that which is used for contact lens wearers.
Then, put the tip of the bottle against the inside corner of your eye and squeeze a drop or two out. Yes, the tip needs to touch that pink corner of skin towards your nose, just lean it on there with your hand and then the fluid flows out and what this does is it prevents the fluid from 'splashing' onto your eye and it just flows and you can hardly feel it.
That's what caused my fear was that drop just splashing onto my cornea, once I found I can just kinda melt it in it made things a lot easier.
So then once you're familiar with the sensation, perhaps ask your doctor to do it the same way or ask if you can do it yourself if it comes to that.
