Belly button piercing?

Question:
Me and my friend want our belly buttons piercing but were nervous. Does it hurt having it done? and how easy is it to get infected?

Answers:
i got mine done 3 years ago and i never managed to get it infected once. the 1st couple of weeks you get it done as hard as it is do not play with it. all of the germs that are on your hand transferred into freshly (as the piercing people call it) puncture wound could possibly get it infected. you want to make sure you keep it clean. they will recommend sea salt. well i don't recommend it. everyone that i know that used it especially on belly buttons ended up getting their belly button badly infected. for mine when i cleaned it everyday in the shower i used dial antibacterial soap and outside of the shower i used peroxide but not too much of that because it could possibly heal the outside faster than the inside trapping germs and other things that may infect your new piercing. as for the hurting part. they will tell you that the clamp hurts the worst when the clamp does not hurt at all. depending on your tolerance for pain the needle doesn't really hurt either. it just feels like a little prick. what always got me with all of my piercings especially my hips is when i got it caught on something the 1st week or bumped it a little too hard..well good luck with your decision of getting it done. hope i helped you a little bit

oh and to the person above me. get a life. i dont care what people thing about piercings. a lot of people call me a human pin cusion. thats probably because i have both of my hips pierced the middle of my stomach even with my hips my belly button. industrial. my ear lobes 3 times and my cartilage. i love all of my piercings. and getting your belly button pierced. thats nothing you can hide that if you dont want people to see it. its totally up to her and her friend if they want to get it done. keep your thoughts about how "bad" it is to yourself no one wants to hear it
i got mine done when i was 16. it does not hurt. i hardly knew it was done. If you have low tolerance for pain it might hurt. If you keep it clean then it should not get infected. the body may reject it where it will push the piercing out.
i recommend doing some research at tribalectic.com, they can answer your questions and they have a community
it dosen't hurt bad but most of them get infected really easy if u get it done keep it really clean
I don't know if it hurts but it is hot
Honestly yes, It does hurt, but only for the few seconds that they are putting the needle through. If you wash it often for the first few weeks with antibacterial soap, it shouldn't get infected. I have had mine for 10 years with no problems.
Suppose it doesn't hurt at all (I understand it hurts a little).

Suppose it does get infected (it happens).

How much worry do you want to put your parents through?
How quickly after infection do you think you'll notice and get to a doctor?
How quickly will the infection be cured IF AT ALL?

Why would you take even a little chance? You like gambling with your life? You like gambling with your health? You know for a fact that the person doing the piercing has disinfected their needle? Are you suddenly going to be more beautiful?

Did you know that professional dancers: Las Vegas showgirls and belly dancers DON'T pierce their navels?

Why would you? You're afraid a little adhesive to hold on a jewel won't be kewl? Did God make your body imperfect, and the piercing is going to improve on what God did?

After you get your piercing I'll lend you my hand drill to put a little hole in your head.
