Why do I randomly have a hard time breathing?

Question:
A couple times out of the year, the left side of my chest tightens up and it hurts when I breathe from a couple seconds to a minute or two. Does anyone know what this is called and should I get it checked out?

Also, I am 17 and I have been having this problem since the first grade.

Answers:
You should definitely get this checked out asap. This could be a sign of a serious problem or maybe a not so serious problem. Only a doctor could tell you for sure. They will need to run a couple test that will be painless. They need definitely need to do an EKG. It may be something where you need to change a couple lifestyle changes.
I had it 2 it still hurts again drink lots of water it worked for me am 16!
if you've been having it this long obviously you don't think it's serious enough to do anything about it so why are you even asking and no offense but i can't believe that your mom never did anything about it the first grade is really young
