Knowledgeable, Experienced People?

Question:
Okay, I really have some serious questions that need to be addressed. I'm specifically needing tried and true procedures that work.

Here are some issues that I'm dealing with that I need a solution to. If you can help me I will be ever so greatful.

Need a solution to my thick, coarse, curly (want it straight) hair.

Need a solution to hirsutism.

Need tactics to deal with husband who is in military (good ways to communicate with controlling husband)

Need tips on any other life experience that has helped you and can help me.

Answers:
Okay. #1: if you can afford it-try going to a salon for a straightner. Helps a LOT.
#2: Vaniqua has been known to help get rid of the excess hair. However, a lot of hirsutism is due to an elevated insulin level. Ask your dr if that's your case. A diabetic drug called Metaformin has been known to help.
#3: My husband is similar. Try talking to him on his level. Don't bring stuff up when he first gets home-try something relaxing like while watching TV or getting ready for bed. As for the controlling portion just explain to him that you need your space. A lot of times Soldiers feel that they must control their wives/families because it is something that they have control over. With the military they have no control. Or, encourage him to get hobbies outside of your marriage and you develop separate hobbies as well.

Good luck!
Since these are all very different questions, I recommend putting each one in a different category so they can be responded to individually.
for the military situation contact your family services department. In the coast Guard its called "work life" but I think each branch calls it something different. You have access to counseling services that help you deal with marital issues and everyday stresses. you can probsably find this information at a MTF too. If your husbands controlling nature is also abussive you need to speak with his command. Abuse doesn't have to be physical and unfortuantely its common in military families. Being a military spouse is stressful.
I use a ceramic hair straightener on my hair, works great. I'm sorry i do not have answers to your other questions.
I can only asnwer the question on hair. Alot of people think they have curly hair, that a simple straightener or iron will fix. Alot of the time that is the case, (wish it were true here LOL). I have had very thick course curly hair I dealth with for so many many years. Been to some of the best salons, had straighteners, used flat irons of all kinds, you name it I tried it. They all help for a very short period of time until the next time you wash it. Well I finally gave in, I love my long hair, but a beautician talked me into cutting it mid back lenght & layering it long in back & short in front around my face. Spend the money on the conditioner & use it every time you wash. Use a shine "oil", very little of it & instead of a heavier gel I like a glaze. I turn my head upside down, use a diffuser to dry it just enough it doesn't fall down flat. I dry it 2 minutes tops upside down do just the crown doesn't flop flat. Turn head back right side up, use fingers to fix it around my face, give it a very light spray. I now found out it might not be straight, but yes it feels good & light weight & is soft as silk which is very hard to get with course course hair. I finally got the "Nanny" look LOL If it is hot & you want it off your neck, one big pretty hair clasp, pull it up & it still looks soft & neat.
