Is there a specific name for this speech pattern?
Question:
why do some kids speak like that? What would cause them to speak like that? Will they outgrow it? Is it heredity?
Answers:
I sometimes pronounce Rs like Ws my dad also did it as a child
it has some heredetary factors because of the structure of your voice box( based on genes) but also has to do with trying to get a child to pronounce Rs ( I was very shy when I was little so I wouldnt talk much and maybe thats why I sometimes have trouble pronouncing the R)
I think it becomes less noticable by time because you get practice to say R, I am far from rolling the R it just sounds like WWWWWW :D
Hmmm sounds like a speech impediment did this preteen also have a very large forehead and really fucked up features? If so that kid is probably a moron and will speak that way forever. Otherwise if the kid is relatively intelligent he or she will realize his speech pattern makes him sound like a walmart greeter and choose to enunciate his words.
