Will clindymyacin help with a UTI? (I've run out of Macrobid!)?

Hi there!
Macrobid is a good choice of antibiotics for UTI. This type of medication is especially prescribed to kill those bacteria that are resistant to first line antibiotics like amoxycillin etc. Clindamycin would not help UTI as different bacteria are sensitive to different type of antibiotics. It is worth to get another course of Macrobid to get rid of the infection because untreated UTI could affect your kidney (and this will definitely cost more than $125)
To alleviate side effect of any antibiotics, I would recommend some supplements that contain good stomach bacteria such as Lactobaccilus. You can take it at least two hours after/before you take your antibiotics. Taking the supplement at the same time with the antibiotics would kill the good bacteria before they can reach the intestines.
I don't think so. The types of bacteria that cause oral infections aren't generally as strong as the ones that cause UTIs.
i wouldnt mix antiobiotics because you can cause resistance. anytime you have antibiotics finish the whole course even if you feel better. for your UTI try cranberry juice, hot water with lemon and drink lots and lots of water. you should be fine.
