Doctors only please. bad throat for 2+ months now...?

Question:
I have had a sore throat for over two months. After 2 courses of different antibiotics and a negative test for glandular fever (mono) the third doctor suggested that it was kitar* (*unsure of spelling, sounds like guitar?), that my sinuses were dripping onto my throat and making it raw. So he prescribed Cetrizine and Pseudoephedrine, the latter of which is pretty much through, the former 1/3 left. Lately the pain (i would describe it as slightly raw and tickly) which had previously been coming and going, seems to occur less frequently, but these last few nights it has been sore, with a terrible, choking tight feeling. I'm not sure if my neck/throat are swollen, but it feels like it. It's so tight i actually feel as though i'm choking right now, which is alarming. My throat had a slightly swollen feeling before but not this bad...Is it possible the doctors have got it wrong? Do you have any suggestions?

Answers:
Please see an ENT specialist. You should have a laryngoscopy ( look at your laryngo-pharynx with a scope) This is an office procedure.

You could miss something with just a tongue blade look
Hey I'm no doctor but I can tell what will help. Peppermint Oil
It cost about $6 and it can not hurt you. It will open up everything and It will help with in the process of food as well.
Coming from the person that was told you could never get mono twice by TWO different doctors- Id say thats what you have. I had a sore throat and bronchitis or sinus like symptons for almost two months before they finally tested me for mono. They had tested me for everything under the sun EXCEPT what i had previously had. When my mono test came back negative, I asked them to check it personally under a microscope and it was a classic case of mono. No antibiotics are really going to help though except to ease the symptoms you have- only rest will cure it. Go back and get more tests!!
