Swollen painful neck glands, slightly sutffy nose, phlegm, fever, aches...what could be wrong with me?

Question:
I know it sounds funny, like duh yu have the flu or a cold. But my glands have never gotten so swollen to the point that if I touch them or move my neck they hurt, or give me difficulty swallowing, or even spitting. This has been for the last 3 days, I have the worst headache, and I've tried everything: theraflu, dayquil, echinacea, vitamin c, cough drops, vapor rub, gargling. And it just seemsto be getting worse. I fell very uncomfortable, and my doctors on vacation until monday! I don't know if it's something serious that I should wait or should I just go to the hospital. I am going away in a couple of days and i am not trying to be sick.HELP

Answers:
Swollen neck glands sounds like mononucleosis.

If your fever is over 102 degrees, and your neck is still painful, I suggest you go to the hospital to check it out. It may be something simple, however, you will want to check to see if you have any type of encephalitis.

Good Luck.
you need to go to the nearest emergency room asap.
