This question is for anyone taking cholesterol lowering meds?

Question:
I have had bad side effects as have my father-in-law, sister-in-law and my husband. Mine were not the tipical known side effects - although some were. We have all started taking red yeast rice and omega-3 and things are better than on the meds.

My question is, of those who are taking these meds, can you think of any condition, annoyance, or concern you have that has started after you began taking the meds? My husband has psoriasis, bad, and has been fighting it for the last two years. He also had muscle weekness. I finally got him to swich to red yeast rice, but I am wondering if his psoriasis was triggered by the meds. He has had other annoyances that he says are getting better since stopping, but does not know if it is placbo effect or for real.
Appreciate your responses about any conditions you may have since beginning the meds. Thanks

i take lipidtor, no side effects at all. now my mom was put on crestor, she got swollen joints while on it,plus it messes with your liver, doctor took her off and put her on i think mircardis?.now i said i take lipiditor no problems, except my cholesterol hasn't went down to good levels yet, so i added garlic, I'll have to see if that works next time i get a blood test?but if you want to try garlic, ask your doctor first, sometimes doing natural remedies doesn't mix well with medicine, so be very careful, please
