A Burn??
Question:
Answers:
Yes burns can get infected especially in the early stages. IF it is bad see a doctor if not use some neosporin and bandages to keep it from getting infected.
yes it can get infected any open wound can get infected so you need to take care of it...
yes they can
If it turns black, call teh doctor. If not just neosporin should be fine
Anything can get infected, if it's an open wound.
Just wash it off with soap or something.
if it swells, it might be infected...
How did you get hot glue on your anke? Wow! Burns can get infected, because it is an open wound and anytime bacteria gets into an open wound, it can get infected. Clean it regularly and apply Triple Antibiotic Ointment and a Band-Aid. Let it air out every once in a while too though.
They can, but only if they break the skin, meaning if they blister and pop! Im an experienced hot glue gun user and you'll be fine, dont worry about it! just put some neosporin on it and relax =]
Just put skin cream on it for wounds.. if its not an open burn than its okay but other than that put a skin cream for wounds on it to keep it cool so it can heal faster and better --
yeah they can but hot glue isnt hot enough to make you get really infected or anything. it will just hurt for a couple days after..
Yes, burns can get infected-especially 2nd and 3rd degree burns(you know when it's white, pink and/or pus is coming out of it). Use some neosporin to prevent infection and make the burn heal better.
They can get infected. In fact i'm working with a strain of Bacillus cereus that was isolated from the boil of a burns patient at glasgow royal infirmary previously. Any injury to the skin compromises it's ability to perform its immune function as a barrier, and a burn is no exception to this. especially if there's a blister... when that bursts, it becomes a free entry point for bacteria. just take care of it and keep it clean and it'll be ok.
rub urine and butter on it (repeat every 2 hours) ..it will heal up in 1 or 2 days..afterwards spray some axe on it to mask the smell
Yes, even the small ones can get badly infected.
Rinse under cool water, and absolutely DO NOT put butter on it. It will trap the heat inside and it will hurt very badly.
If it gets really painful and red with blisters, I would go to your doctor just to check it out.
yeah they can but unless it's bigger than a quarter and deep then it's nothing to worry about. use an antiseptic cream lightly and then leave it. covering it up only makes it damp.
Of course burns can get infected. But if you're otherwise healthy, just clean your wound with cool water and keep it clean. You can cover it with a sterile guaze bandage, just don't use the fluffy cotton kind that might stick to the burn. Minor burns usually heal on their own without further treatment.
Is it a blister or just red? If it's just red (1st degree burn), most likely nothing will happen. If it has a blister or boil on it (2nd degree burn because it involves the dermis), there is a higher chance that it will become infected. Just keep it clean and put Neosporin on it... keep it bandaged too. Otherwise, if it starts to look funny, get more red, green, yellow, or oozes clear fluid, see a doctor.
Feel better soon!
i had a really high-powered glue gun for a school project, and it dripped onto my thigh [omg it hurt sooo bad]
at first i put on a little bit of neosporon on it, but then i just let it go...now its find [with a scar]
cold water is the best/only first aid when you burn yourself - 20 minutes under the tap and no less. NEVER ice OR vinegar OR milk OR butter OR green tea OR mustard OR toothpaste OR sunscreen OR semen OR vaseline OR tomatoes OR vanilla extract OR yogurt OR sour cream OR egg white OR egg yellow OR lavender oil OR cocoa butter OR salt OR tea bags OR potato OR shaving cream OR olive oil OR baking soda OR banana peel OR petroleum jelly OR whipped cream OR avocado OR bacon grease OR corn starch OR turmeric OR lemon juice OR curd OR pickle juice OR soy sauce OR urine OR talcum powder OR mashed strawberries OR exfoliating scrub OR mayonnaise OR peroxide OR bleach OR deep heat OR ketchup OR red grapes OR hairspray- not until the skin is fully healed!
i would advise that you cover the burnt area with white soft paraffin (white petroleum) or aqueous cream bp. (check the links below and see if you can find a local equivalent). wash the burn and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.
cling wrap alone is ok if you can't get hold of any paraffin. it also acts as a protective artificial skin - helping retain moisture and protect from further damage and pain. cling wrap is cheap and clean off the roll. in Australia ambulances often use this when someone has been burnt. - please note that cling wrap isn't always practical, like on your face.
the paraffin imitates the natural oils, creating a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain by protecting sensitised nerves. both of these factors improve healing - good stuff stays in, bad stays out (like infections)- that is one job of healthy skin. aloe is good coz it remoisturises but that moisture can be quickly lost as the skin can't contain fluids. so put aloe on, and then the paraffin on over the top. if there is broken skin leave out the aloe - just paraffin.

finally if you are really worried go to a hospital that has a burns unit or plastic surgeons. serious sunburn i.e. blisters (and all other burns) should be seen by a burns trained doctor or nurse.
