Often car sickness is caused by a build up of static electricity inside the car. To release the static electricity buy a rubberised wire strap that attaches to the rear of the car and occasionally touches the ground as one drives. These straps are available from many auto accessory shops.

I don't think you can completely stop it, but you can definitely help it. You can take dramamine (sp?). And also I've found it helpful when you're in the car to look out at something far out in the distance in a fixed position.
You can take a medicine called Dramamine. It's OTC. It should help you.
