Septra Medication?
Question:
So can i drink alcohol while taking Septra?
Answers:
My drug book doesn't mention anything about avoiding alcohol while taking Septra, but since it is filtered through the liver, I wouldn't drink because you don't want to interfere with the liver's function anymore. A lot of antibiotics can weaken when used with alcohol. It would probably be best not to. Look on the bottle & see if alcohol intensifies or dilutes...
Hon, I wouldn't! You never know you might end up with a beard and mustache if you do.
How much alcohol are we talking about? Just to be on the safe side, I myself wouldn't drink alcohol for the 10 days while you are taking the med.I mean it is only 10 days..and drink plently of water with it...and cranberry juice is helpful. Let's get this UTI resolved before we go back to alcohol.
Yes there is no alcohol interaction with the drug Septa, but still be careful and get confirm from your doctor again. Good Luck.
No. Do not drink alcohol or grapefruit juice with any medication unless your doctor specifically tells you otherwise.
I've found several sources that recommend avoiding alcohol while taking Septra, so I would recommend to you that it would be a bad idea to drink while taking it.
Drinking alcohol and taking any type of medication is bad. It is bad because it is hard on the liver.. In the write ups on this drug, it mentions as a side effect liver and kidney damage. Generally speaking, when you have an infection of this type, you need to cleanse your system of excess toxins.. Drinking alcohol will not do that.. you should be drinking lots and lots of water instead. It's only 10 days, 240 hours.. surely you can go that long without a drink.
