My first eye appointment is tomorrow. I have never seen an optometrist before. Will they ask me if I prefer?

Question:
contacts or glasses, or do I have to tell them I want contacts?

Answers:
the eye exam determines what prescription you will need
tell them you wants contacts but please be aware
you will probably need to get backup glasses also
99.9% of people with contacts get glasses also for emergencies,to wear for eye infections, etc
contacts have to be fitted to the measurements of your eye
some prescriptions for contacts are very expensive and for people some contacts are not recommended
also some people are allergic to contact lense cleaners and have to wear glasses unless they are prepared to Make the solution themselves as they mostly all have preservatives in them
it also depends if you are old enough
glasses are so stylish now it almost is nicer to wear glasses and you don't have to worry about loosing one or having it slip while you are out somewhere
or a piece of dirt or dust can get blown under them

also sometimes contact lenses cause small ulcerations or irritations inside your eye lids and make risk of infection increase if you are not meticulous cleaing them or your hands
that won't come up until the very end, the exam is the same, and your eyeglass prescription will be the same, whether you get glasses or contacts.
Let them know that you want contacts.
an eye test is no big deal - generally someone staring at your eye through some instrument etc and finally the choice of contacts / glasses is yours and yours alone
It depends on how you feel allthough glasses are a total fashion statement♥♪♫
I think that will be your option. They'll only tell you what kind of lens you need. I don't wear glasses, but I once went with a friend of mine to an optometrist and they only did that. You can have them both(glasses and contacts and use each separately, depending on where you're going).
How old are ya? If you're really young they might try to stick you with glasses but most likely they'll offer you both. I wear contacts during the day and then glasses at night before I go to bed.
if you want contacts then you need to tell them before they start the exam, so they can do certian things like measure your cornea and other stuff. the exam cost more then a regular one but to me contacts are a hole lot better then glasses.
You have to tell them. Usually when you set an eye appointment it is for one or the other? Its weird they didn't ask you when you set the appointment.
i would mention that you want contacts, just to be sure. they should ask you once they figure out your eyesight, but it all depends on your doctor. i would casually say something during the exam, that if you needed correctional vision, you would prefer contacts.
also, some people think that the prescription is the same whether you have glasses or contacts, but that is not always the case. i just got new glasses and the prescription was made stronger in them than my contacts. this doesnt matter during the exam, because your eyesight is what the prescription is based on, which does stay the same obviously.
