Doctors wants to test for liver level and CBC. Why?

Well, I'm sure its just routine to find out what the swelling is all about. When your liver isn't functioning properly, fluids tend to build up in other places. He's just trying to rule out liver problems.
Your liver will tell how your body is handling the wellbutrin.
CBC is Complete Blood Count. To check your red and white blood counts. Liver level is because some meds will affect the liver. If he is concerned about the swelling there may be an underlying condition that he may want to look into and doing these tests will help with that.
Don't forget to mention something like the swelling!! Have a list going before you go to the doctor! They check your liver because of the wellbutrin. It's just a precaution. The CBC is just a full blood work-up. Nothing to worry about. When your arms and/or legs swell up, keep them above your heart. Lay on the bed with your legs up on the pillows or headboard and your arms behind your head on pillows, if possible. That's probably from the wellbutrin also. Nest time mention it! :)
Wellbutrin is an MAOI medication and it can have effects on your blood count and your liver which is why they probably chack on you every once in a while trust me it is a good thing just let them make sure you are ok
GREETINGS, as a former pharmacy asst, I can tell you that wellbutrin does affect the liver so they want to be sure there are not any functioning changes going on. Have you always had the swelling or is that new? If it's just since you are on the wellbutrin, they may need to change your meds if your blood tests are off, if you've always had the swelling, you need to find out why.
