What are some tricks to falling asleep when it seems like you can't?

Read. It always makes me sleepy when I can't go to sleep. Or take a medicine that helps you fall asleep. If that doesn't work, get an electric blanket, and some relaxing music or some ocean or rainforest recording. If that doesn't work. Go to the doctor. He'll know what to do!

try to make your mind go blank. yeah, its hard. but it works.
Concentrate on your breathing. Take deep breaths initially and then let your mind focus on something tranquil like running water or whatever relaxes you. Sometimes background noise like a fan helps. Sweet dreams!
I Have a very.. uh, ODD way of falling asleep.
First i think about vannila icecream.. then about chocolate.. then strawberry then i slowly try to make my mind go blank as long as i can.. then if i start thinking I start thinking of icecream again and I repeat all the steps untill i fall asleep :) Works everytime.
You may not be able to go to sleep because you may spend to much time on the computer, If you think thats the case lower your hours down to 1-2 a day :)

If not, then try to make a new daily schedule that includes exercise twice a day. Maybe early in the morning, some jogging/jog-walking and in the early evening some kind of martial arts like Thai boxing, or even boxing, or anything else that is aerobic and makes your muscles work hard at the same time. Handball or basketball or soccer is good as well. This is probably the best way to get to sleep everynight. Try it, you won't regret it.
I know with working nights, I have the same problem sometimes. I get up and do something relaxing, like reading a book, watching a movie, or even just taking a hot shower helps.
