What's wrong with me .. I keep getting dizzy/passing out?

Question:
Occaisionally, after I get up from lying or sitting down for a while, I get extremely dizzy. My vision goes black around the edges & eventually I can't see anything at all. Sometimes my hands and feet go numb too. After I steady myself for a minute or two I usually go back to normal and am fine from there on out, but sometimes I actually fall down or pass out. This has been going on for a couple of years. It might happen once or twice a week, but I've only actually passed out a few times. Today was the worst yet -- I just got out of a recliner and started walking up my stairs, feeling dizzy, and I completely blacked out. I fell down the stairs & now I have a bruised nose and black eye.. & the scariest part is I don't really even remember falling or where I was standing at - just waking up with my head hurting at the foot of the stairs.

I'm only 14, at a slender/healthy weight, & I have no other health problems! What's wrong ?

Thanks so much. :]

The dizziness sounds like maybe you haven't eaten enough, but the numbness sounds somewhat like diabetes. And dizziness can be a sign of diabetes also. Are you often very thirsty and have to pee a lot? I know a lot of people don't think younger people can get diabetes, but they do. It's actually quite common.

It could also be because you don't eat enough or eat the right food.

You really should get this checked out. It sounds pretty serious to me, hon. Really, get it checked out immediately.
my son and I had the same type of symptoms ...it sounds very similar to anemia

You should see a doctor to confirm for you what might be the problem
visit nhs direct (link below) and use their self help guide. It sounds serious though, you shouldn't be passing out. I would go and see your doctor very soon but if your symptoms get worse then you need to get to a hospital immediately!
Are you pregnant? You should go to a doctor, you want to be sure there isn't a blockage anywhere. How is your Blood Pressure.

Please go to your doctor.
Maybe you have blood pressure problems. I used to have the same thing but never fully passed out but almost did I went to the doctors and I found out that I had high blood pressure and I had a heart problem the blood isn't flowing right in my body. GO GET CHECKED! It can be serious not something to mess around with especially if you are injuring yourself.
This happens to me, I've gone to the doctor i went to a neurologist and had an ekg and other tests done, i was fine. my doctor told me that after you sit for long periods of time then stand up quickly it causes you to feel dizzy and unsteady and even have darkness in vision. I had exactly the same symptoms of you, he said also it could be low blood sugar like maybe I hadn't eaten enough but mostly he said to try and stand up slower.
