Is there any type of medicine like Provigil? My Doctor said that my insurance doesn't cover it?

I'll probably get slaughtered for telling you this, but if I were in your position, I would seriously consider ephedra. It is still quite legal when sold as an asthma medication.
You should call your pharmacist to find out what other drugs are like Provigil. When you find out, you call your insurance company and find out if they cover it and how much. I know that Provigil has recently been approved for treatment of ADHD (it used to be only for narcolepsy). But besides that and Ritalin and Adderal, I don't know if there are any other ADHD medications.
There is nothing over-the-counter for either ADHD or Narcolepsy.
Let me know when you get a good answer please. In the same boat my self. Cant afford to buy out of pocket. Ive done sleep studies, and everything insurance still want pay. Doc says I suffer from epistein bar virus and chronic fatigue. Now with the other answer of ephedra. that is a good answer but where can you find it? I used to take it to help only 1-3 daily. But it does help. And I have asthma.
