Are most chiropractors concerned or greedy?
Question:
I'm kinda worried that if I was liable I would have to pay for it... I dont have medical coverage on my end.
Answers:
Watch out for this guy. Many alternative medicine practicioners massively oversharge for their services when they know you are covered by insurance. When the insurance company balks at their high fees, they stick you with the bill and send you to collections when you can't pay.
Some are honest and some are crooks.
Honestly, they can usually get the auto insurance to pay at least some of the bill.
If you decide to go, make sure you get in writing that you do not have the ability to pay anything and that whatever the auto insurance covers is all they'll get.
ALSO some encourage you to get a settlement and then they take their fees from that settlement. It entitles them to part or all of your settlement in some cases.
Proceed with caution. Call a few other chiropractors and ask questions.
Like any other profession, there are good Chiropractors and bad ones. My fiancee is a Chiropractor, as are two of her brothers. As a profession most of them seem to get in for the right reasons... but bills and time can change idealists. If you were lucky enough to walk into my fiancee's office, you'd just know in your gut you found someone who cared about you more than money. so I'd suggest you trust your gut. If you feel like you found a sales person rather than a caring doctor... move on... and try another one. There are a LOT of Chiropractors... and they are used to hearing about your exact situation... from car accident, to high deductible, to concerns about money... so tell them your story, and only stick around if your gut tells you that you found someone who cares about your health over their pocket book
