Do i have this disease?
Question:
do u think i have this disease?
Answers:
Oh, I think you have a fetish, not this disease. I do the same thing - constantly tweezing the brows, pulling at the lashes, picking at any hair I can get to. It is a habit, but controlled, as I still have hair in all the right places. People with the disease really can't control it and have to be medicated. You don't want that label or to be medicated for the rest of your life. You just need to find something else for your hands to do - squeeze a stress ball, tap your pencil or find a negative consequence when you catch yourself doing it. And as for shaving the legs all the time, hey if you have the time, there's nothing wrong with that.
the only way to really know is to get a professional opinion. people on here will tell you what they think, but hey most of them have no clue, so share your concerns with a doctor
Just because you like to shave your legs and pubes doesn't mean you have a disease. And you pick out your eyebrow hair because you're bored, not because you want to.
You don't have this disease.
I'm not sure. It could be that you have this specific condition, but you could also have something else.
See if you can consult a psychiatrist (you might want to ask your physician, too, and see if he can give you any good recommendations). No one here will be able to tell you for sure as you can only really make a diagnosis in person.
Best of luck to you!
Hey, I think it's possible that you do have Trichotillimania. You might have what is called Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Some of the classifications for BDD is skin picking, hair pulling, obsession with plastic surgery, cuticle pushing, & nail biting. Check out these sites okay? I remember watching Oprah and she had a show all about BDD. I included her site with the show on it too.Along with "trich.org" (it's an organization with success stories, how you can stop etc)
You should talk to your doctor, and let him/her know you think you might have Trichotillimania it's not that uncommon as you think. Most people don't know the terminology for these disorders. If your doctor isn't familiar with the disorder, print some information off from these sites and let him/her read up on it. There usually is an underlying issue as to why you pull your hair out.For sure, mention it to your doctor. Hope everything works out for ya. Good Luck :D
