My shoulder muscles are constantly tight?

Question:
I suffered shiplash in 2000, I was a passenger in my mum's car, when another car drove into the rear of ours, it was a low speed colision, probably 30mph at the most, since then I've had neck problems, but my shoulder muscles seem to be almost constantly tense (have received remarks from physio's osteopaths etc) is there anything I can do to relieve them?

Answers:
Yes, I was in the same sitatuion a few years ago. Sometimes it might not be your shoulder muscles that is really tight, it might be something more deep. However, I would recommend a hot pack, to relax your muscles. You can find one in CVS, rite aid, etc... or if you wish. Get a small towel soak it in water, then ring out, put it in the microwave for about a minute or desired heat. Be careful it may be hot, then put it inside a zip lock bag then place it on your shoulder where it feels tight. Do this for atleast 15-30mins a day. After the 15-30 mins, do some stretching exercises on your shoulder muscles. Keep doing this until it gets better.
Another would be fill you bath tub with warm water like a spa, then relax in the bath tub, listen to some relaxing music. This relaxes your whole body.
start massage therapy, really works!!
