How hard is it to get medical assistance?
Question:
So, how hard is it to get medical assistance? Do you have to jump through hoops? Also, would my being on assistance affect me if I enlisted in the military (which I'm doing later this year/early next year?) I don't want it to come back and bite me on the butt because someone has a problem with it.
Answers:
*sigh* darn near impossible. I have several handicaps, including being unable to walk. I am on disability, after 30 years of working non-stop. I can NOT get medicaid because my husband makes (you ready for this?) $9 an hour. You have to have less than $1300 a month, they told us, to get any help. No matter that you can't pay the doctor...you get NO help. We still have to pay all our bills, and I need medicine, as does my husband. NO help. Good luck to you, I hope you get some help, somehow.
Your employer should have offered you a Cobra Plan, where you could pay the negotiated cost for the insurance for until you get a job or up to 18 months.
Not hard at all just dial 911
