it all because of our brains , believe it or not . as humans have evolved to have bigger brains , our heads had to get bigger . so that women have had to develop larger pelvis's.
not all women have an obvious hour glass shape , though .and larger pelvis doesn't fully expalin it either - it doesn't explain why theres a waist for example . all evolution is based on 2 thigs , 1)what works - ie you have to survive to childbearing age AND reproduce to pass on your genes 2) what is considered attractive to a potential mate which is largely a social factor (thats part of the success re. reproduction). if they have wide shoulders , for example , they could be kind of V shaped .
We have them because usually or hips are wider then the rest of our us. But not every woman has it. And it's fine if you don't.
