Ok i am 15 i think i have a sleep disorder?


Question:
I go to bed at 2:30 to 3:00 AM almost every night i and i still don't fall asleep %40 of time.When i go bed at a more regular time like 12:00-12:30 i will probably only fall asleep 10%-15% of the time. Things are even wrose when school is going on i only get between 5-6 hours of sleep at night sometimes less or no sleep at all. I haven't had any major tramus in my life, i don't drink to much caffiene, i exericse EVERYDAY. I have drank a little before at parties and stuff but in past week i have been drinking every night to try and help my self sleep at little easier. I understand this could lead to a serious problem. By some people i am viewed as a very angry person i think my lack of sleep causes my grumpyness and i think that the alcohol makes it even worse. Do you think i have a condition, what do you make of all this?

hey i feel the same as you and im 14. i go to bed around 2:30 AM every night. on school nights i'll get 6-7 hours of sleep.

i read that if you have troubles falling asleep, then you should spend the hour before you plan on going to bed doing relaxing things. like getting in bed and reading. or watching TV with the volume on low.

i dont think you have any serious problems. its just a teenager thing ;]

(oh, and im sure drinking wont get you anywhere but a hang over. youre too young to do that anyways. you cant wait a few years cant you?)
firstly, quit drinking!! i swear, it makes u really woozy but doesnt help one bit. try having a hot relaxing bath before hitting the sack..it helps u fall asleep faster. maybe it could also be due to something thats troubling u at the back of ur mind...try doing meditation for 5 mins and clear your mind. if u cant sleep, just close ur eyes and lie down and think of something nice...anything...but DONT drink.
if nothing works, i think u should go to a doc. good luk anyway ;)
I have never slept well myself. Finally my doctor told me that some people just don't need as much sleep as others. Try reading a book at night, it will sometimes make your eyes tired and relax your mind. You don't need to drink, that will make you angry. Have you talked to your parents about this. Make sure your not drinking to much soda or coffee after a certain time at night, and stay away from sugar after 7pm. No chocolate, all these things can keep you awake. Also try music, something that will make you sleep. Pleasant dreams hope this will help you a bit.

Your problem may be attributed to a large amount of contributing factors. The best thing that you can do to aid your sleep patterns is establish a schedule that you can stick to. In other words, it is extremely important, for sleeping regularity sake, to go to bed and wake up at the same time. This pattern can act similarly to your eating patterns. You probably get hungry at about the same time everyday because you have conditioned your body to eat at certain times. Pay closer attention to your diet. What you eat can also be a contributing factor when it comes to successfully sleeping. Watch out for foods high in sugars. Avoid sodas or candy. This may sound odd, but, avoid taking naps. Keep yourself awake and shoot for full eight hour nights of sleep. Your body needs deep REM sleep to repair and rejuvenate. It could be hormonal imbalances due to puberty and growing up. I wouldn't worry at all. It isn't uncommon in teens to experience sleeping problems. If all else fails, look for "Sleepy Time Tea." Or search for a Tea that is similarly named. Valerian root is a good natural sleep aid and can help you get those much needed Zs. Take care bro.

well i dont think u hav a disorder maybe u r suffering from the early stages of anxiety. i hav this problem a lot too. not every night but a lot. i hav a lot of stress and i think my mind wonders off i think that if u hav a lot of stress too this is wat is keepin u awake. and u stressin out bout not fallin asleep is only makin it worse ya know? also if u r only 15 u shouldnt be drinkin that might be another cause of yur sleep anxiety if yur stressin cus u know u shouldnt drink but u do it anyway. i dont want to tell ya wat to do but ppls dont do anything stupid k? lol well i hope this problem gets better ttyl. =D and get some sleep ppls lol
