Yes, cocaine started out in pretty much the same way as heroin. It comes from the leaf of the Erythroxylon coca bush and in the early 1900s, it was deemed as a main stimulant drug that was used in a lot of tonics and elixirs that were to treat various illnesses. It was used as an anesthetic and because of it's mentally stimulating effects, it was also used to treat people with depression.
Cocain was used for a variety of things in the 1800's and early 1900's in America.
The plant has been used by the South Americans for many many centuries, even to this day.
I don't know, but i heard it was used in Coca-Cola.

The only thing that I know about this is that Sigmund Freud used to use cocaine and prescribe it to his patients before it was controlled. Luckily there are much better methods for dealing with pain and staying alert and awake!

it is really unbelievable that many of these illegal drugs were once handed out to help people, to HELP them but, now with all thses studies and tests we don't see how its helping. now, if u were caught with drugs like the big time ones like cocaine and heroin u would have a big jail time.
