My potassium level is supposedly too high- what problems can that cause?

Question:
How can I lower it quickly to pass a blood test for work?

Answers:
Hyperkalemia (high level of potassium) can have serious, potentially life-threatening effects on the body. A gradual increase in potassium, as may occur with chronic renal failure, may be better tolerated than a sudden increase. Slightly higher than normal potassium levels may be well tolerated by some persons with chronic renal failure. You can not really lower it quickly, you have to just stop consuming foods that contain potassium such as, bananas, red meat, milk, vegetables, and fruits. So as you can see it's impossible to lower it unless you take diuretic pills which I do not recommend without consulting a professional. Please do take care of this as this could be very dangerous. Let me know what you come up with.
Elevated potassium can cause cardiac arrest. Potassium helps with your heart rhythm. Try to find out what may be elevating it. Foods, dehydration, diet pills, water pills. This is a health issue...why would your job care? Increase your fluid intake...that should balance you out more. Talk with your doctor.
HEART PROBLEMS!
stop eating bananas , tomatoes and potatoes anything high in potassium. Not enough potassium or too much can cause problems with your heart. also, you don't need to have a low potassium level for work...they don't even look at that...( unless you have some kind of super strenuos job where you have to work out alot... )...it's not a drug or illegal substance in your body. Take care of you...be heart smart!!
