Atrivan or Lorazepam?

Question:
My theripist Recommended this drug for anxiety called Atrivan. So I went to my doctor to get a perscription, then got the pills at the supermarket but they're called Lorazepan... It seems to be for the same syptoms but I'm still not sure. It's just weird that's all so I'm wondering if they're the same drug...

Answers:
They are. Ativan is a brand name, lorazepam is the name of the drug itself.
this is the same medicine, one is the generic name(lorazepam), and one is the brand name(ativan), both work the same as far as i know, but there is a difference in the price, the generic being more cost efficient. thanks, tia karen
Basically they are. Try Seredyn, its a non-addictive drug with a 93% success rate. Ive been prescribed different drugs for anxiety attacks for nearly 25 years now. This one works pretty good for me.
Killfoot is right. Be careful with this drug. How much are you taking? If you are taking more than 2 mg, you may have a problem coming off of it. It is a great drug while you need it. But, when it is time to stop it, don't just "quit." You will need to taper your dose down very slowly. For example, you may go from 2, to 1.5, to 1, to 0.5, to 0.25 and even lower. You will want to do this over a few weeks so as not to have withdrawal symptoms.
Good luck and feel better!
