How long do they last?

How long do normal obsessions last as opossed to someone who has an anxiety disorder like ocd?

Answers:
FOREVER if you do not take your medication and/or miss "sessions"! You must seek help! It really does happen to the best of us:) GOOD LUCK & BEST WISHES!

They really dont go away i mean i whatched a show about it and it got better and they diddnt worry so much.

normal obsessions can last afew months ( like infatuation) to a lifetime ( like loving hello kitty or a certain celebrity).

OCD however, gets in your way of life. Its like obsessed and cant get out of bed, cant think straight cant act right.

an obsession will last until you replace it with another obsession.

few days for me i just try not to get excited over any thing

it could be obessive thoughts..or INTRUSIVE thoughts, which are similiar. obessions can last, for me, from wake to sleep.

i am much better now. i got meds, therapy, support groups
