What is the best method to recover from depression?

Question:

Answers:
To someone who is depressed I'd say : Try everything! One idea is to sort of act happy and see if that works after a while it sort of stops being an act and you'e happy. If you think this sounds silly it's because you're sort of hanging on to how you feel now maybe. Better to give up on how you feel now because it's not working . Just try it for a while see if it works if you can't bear acting happy you gotta ask yourself why? Don't I want to be happy? Do I think it's wrong to be happy? You could go for an hour of hypnotherapy with a reputable therapist (not one who believes in regression or unlocking hidden memories that's BS). Ask your doctor can he recommend a hypnotherapist they can help you with most things, an hour should be enough to feel a bit better. Abandon any feelings that you don't fit in to this world this world is as much your's as anyone else's. I send you love. Be cool, before you know it it will all be over and you're regret will be that you allowed yourself to stay unhappy when there were things you could do to try to feel better. If you want to talk to someone you can contact me, you could tell me anything. When you feel like crying, cry, it might make you feel better; if it does enjoy that feeling. Good luck.

Counseling, and medicine

My therapist recommended I keep a daily journal - been doing so now for 5 years and am off all meds and doing great - when I get into a fugue I write down my feelings and I'm ok then! unprotected sex w/ multiple partners always seems to lifts my spirits.

Read the Bible and go to a good church, trust me it works!

A combination of the proper medication and therapy can help. Also learn things to do to cope with your depression, such as stay pre-occupied. As much as you don't feel like doing something, make your self do something anyway, even if it just watching a movie or something. It helps you get outside of yourself and quit thinking negative thoughts which lead to you feeling the way you do.
