Please read my question and the answers about PAXIL. I really suggest going to WebMD.com and researching whatever drug you're prescribed or will be prescribed. My sister in law has almost 85% of the side effects for Paxil...I know everyone is different, but I've heard alot more bad than good about it. You can also go to Paxil.com for more info...stay away from this drug if at all possible!! I hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you have any questions about it. Take care. :) ~Kendra Leigh

I am not able to take any tri-cyclic antidepreesants the side effects are worse than what they are supposed too treat
I was on a drug called Effexor for a while. Only times I felt sick or anything was when I forgot to take a pill. Paxel (sp?) also made me extremely tired, but that to be expect I suppose since it raises your seretonin.
I've been bipolar for 7 yrs. for the 1st 2-3 yrs. I was misdiagnosed as Major Depression, this is common. I've taken many antidepressants. You have to give them 4-8 wks. to wok then you can discuss changing w/ your Dr., unless one of the side effects on the warnings appear, then see you Dr. & he'll change. It took me 5 yrs. to get the right cocktail of meds & I may change again. You have to do your homework & read as much as you can & go to Support groups & speak about meds. Everyone is different so if you don't do your homework & just leave it up to your Psychiatrist, & Psychologist it will takre longer to feel better. I usually tell my Dr. what I want to try & then we decide together.I take 4 meds, without them I end up in the Hospital.
Although antideppresants are neccessary when someone has clinical depression, there is a noticeable side affect. The person does tend to feel more anxious, and in some extreme cases, more suicidal. If this happens, the sufferer should contact their GP, and perhaps ask for alternative medication. For example, if your on xerophene, ask for prozac instead. This is an ongoing problem, and now thats why doctor's are trying to promote alternative treatments, e.g increased exercise, and eating foods that help promote endorphins, such as carrots, bannanas, plenty of green vegetables etc. Hope this helps. Triple peace out :)
That is like asking are there any fat people. This happens most of the time. All drugs have side effects. 40% of meds are for side effects of other meds. See this site under depression for natural ways to help with no side effects except better health. MD suggested plus short inspirational story to uplift you.

My mother could not take any antidepressants. She had seizures on them and ended up in ICU on a respirator. Recently I started taking WelButrin to help quit smoking. I almost had a heart attack. My heart would beat 200 beats for a few minutes then 40 beats for a few minutes. My doctor changed me to another one and I have had no problems.
1- Take too long to take effect, and have to keep suffering until they do. Which made me feel the pills were not doing anything at all, that they were only a sugar pill so to speak, to teach me to control my depression
2- I took myself off anti-depressants once and half of my body was paralyed for a few days. (I guess I should have done it gradually instead of instantly - I put my body in shock for awhile)
