Answers:
marijuana can increase psychosis..so it isn't a good idea to mix them. As for lithium and mariajuana together, how will you be able to tell if the lithium is helping if you are stoned? I wouldn't mix them

Other Answers:
You should not do any mood altering drugs while being treated with prescription medicine including alcohol. The dr. prescribed this for a particular outcome and this will compromise the effect of the medicine.
I don't know if there is evidence but marijuana, will increase the paranoia, and will definitely effect the out come of the benefits of lithium, I use to do both, but lithium dehydrated me too much, and Mary-j increased my stress level, i am on zyprexa now, which i don't like, been on many meds trying to figure out this bi-polar thing, tempted to just give up all the meds, and deal with it(if i can) or if my brains still whole, from all the different psycho meds i been on, to answer your question I wouldn't mix them.
I know it is not recommended but I have used both together for 2 years and I am way better then I was before . I take 3 lithium a day, and smoke pot at night to help me eat and rest. My doc knows and never has told me to stop. I also know many others who do the same thing. I am no doctor and it is illegal so you should not even listen to me, but you asked/
