depression only affects you because you let it. i know that your feeling really bad about yourself but the only way to get over it is to get over it.
your lacking something in your life. you need to find out what things make you happy, and surround yourself with them.
bring some sunshine into your life. plan totally uncalled for trips to somewhere yuou havent been or meet some new people. honestly if you keep doing new things everyday then you will feel better.
yes your moods are all over the place and you wish it would just go one way or the other thats classic for bi-polar ll it sounds like you need a medication adjustment. you say you cant see your dr till oct. i would call her office to see about getting an emergency appt. early and still keep the one for oct. or find out what you can do. just tell them you cant go on like this till then. in the meantime do you have a local crisis hotline you can talk too? they have qualified ppl there who can answer your questions there and hopefuly lead you in the right path. good luck
By personality disorder, do you mean borderline personality disorder? This kind of fluctuation in mood can be part of this disorder because people with BPD have trouble regulating their emotions. It's also fairly common for survivors of abuse to have have this disorder.
Of course it could also be bipolar but there's no way to know until you to back to your therapist in October. I'm sorry to hear that you have to wait so long.
Keep in mind that psychiatric disorders aren't always clear cut and easily diagnosible so a therapist pretty much goes on what symptoms are present.
I understand about those highs and lows so it's important to go easy on yourself right now and find some ways to distract yourself from these fluctuating emotions.
If you feel yourself going up too high then try some self-soothing things like taking a bath or listening to soothing music. Deep breathing and meditation might help a little too.
If you feel your mood dropping then find something to do like like listening to upbeat music, calling a friend, going out and taking a brisk walk or anything that might raise your spirits a bit.
These things have helped me in the past and they're good to practice even when you are in regular therapy.
If you are bipolar then there are meds that are mood stabilizers which can help a lot with controlling those ups and downs.
Take care of yourself and I wish you all the best.
YOU ARE PROBABLY SPENDING 2MCH TIME DOING NOTHNG. PICK A HOBBY, MAKE A SCHEDULE, GO BY IT, AND HAVE A GOAL. STAY AWAY FROM DRUGS AND SPECIALLY ALCOHOL.
I have lived with bi-polar 1 all my life and I am living a healthy productive life at 64. I can't urge you enough to get to a GOOD highly recommmended psychiatrist to be evaluated. I also can't urge you enough to get some help taking care of those children....I could never have taken care of my 3 children by myself when I was younger. My parents and my side of the family was so supportive as that was just too much stress on my life. Medication can eventually stablelize you so that you can enjoy your loved ones and have a wonderful life. Even at my age, if my psychiatrist couldn't see me within a week when I needed him, I would change doctors. My psychiatrist has been the same one for decades doing his own therapy and a great pharmaceutical doctor. You deserve more.....go get it......
