enjoying pain?

I enjoy pain to the point I burn myself. I dont like cutting because it bleeds and scabs so when Im at work I dont need people seeing blood seaping threw my clothes. I mainy burn myself with a hot lighter around my chest area. It feels so good, so good that its cold. It almost instantly takes my mind off the pressures of life. The only prob I have is my gf is getting concerned about the scars and I hav e lied to her about the issue saying that it was a bet from friends, I dont know what to do to control this. any ideas?

Hurting yourself is a serious issue. If this is because you like feeling pain to numb emotional problems that are occurring in your life you have a serious problem. There are so many other alternatives to solving problems that DONT include hurting yourself. I realize that some things are so bad it doesn't seem like anything will help. You need to talk to somebody about your problems instead of letting yourself drown in them. When you think about burning yourself try to focus on the problem that is bothering you. Put down the lighter and pick up a phone. Talk to a friend, family member, or trained professional about whatever it is that is haunting you enough to harm yourself over. If your hiding this from your gf you must know that she would be really troubled by finding out that your doing this to yourself. Use this as a motivation to stop! Hurting yourself is just a temporary relief to your problems...if you don't work them out this whole situation is going to get much worse and it will begin to rule your life. Don't let it become an addiction...please get help.

First of all, if you were addicted to pain you would do anything to feel it, not JUST burn yourself. You sound like a pyromaniac to me who enjoys fire and feeling the fire. If you want to stop, just dispose of EVERYTHING you own that could produce a flame of any kind. Second, you need to go see a psychiatrist or hypnotist so they can try to make you stop wanting to feel pain by fire, and maybe help you figure out why you're doing this. Hope everything works out for you! :)
