Yeah, it happens, and it really stinks, doesn't it?
First of all, although it won't change your emotions, realize at least intellectually that you're suffering from depression. It's natural, it happens to everyone occasionally, and it DOES end. So even if in your heart you think you'll always feel like this, know in you head that you won't and that you WILL be happy again.
The first time you have real depression is the worst because you haven't experienced it before so you believe it's permanent. Three days is very short - it could go on for weeks! But know that it will end, for sure. Meanwhile, try reading something of the Buddhist philosophy: everything you're upset about is really just an illusion - or maybe not. Either way, just hang in there -- things WILL be better and you WILL be happy again. Always remember that.
P.S. -- Did you know that some of the greatest people in history suffered from major depression? Herman Melville. Winston Churchill. Julius Caesar.
Don't worry be happy.
Just tell yourself not to worry about things that you cannot change.
think that after at least one year from now, that stuff wont matter to you anymore. So there is not enough reason to worry because it would not really affect your life as a whole.
relax breath deep breaths get away occupy your mind and if all fails hit your thumb with a hammer! all thoughts will be on your thumb!
You need to learn that you only need worrying about things you can change for the good or whatever, if you cannot alter things that you worry about, well then its not your worry.
Its not easy to do for many, depression can be so debilitating.
so you need to ask yourself what it is you are worrying about, write it or them down, draw through what you can do something about, then those left, well then say to yourself that this one thing is getting my every thought, what a waste of my moments that could be laughter times, or good book , tv times, whatever.
Substitute those things with nice things, positive things, like, going to a shop, walking along the beach, find something you really enjoy and tell yorself consciously that you are going to make something good happen, keep busy, keep mind on better things , like making a favourite food, or mentally put yourself somewhere you feel relaxed and happy.
However if this feeling of sadness lingers more than 2 weeks and you have more sad days than good days, please go and talk to a doctor or a good friend, someone you trust and someone who will listen.
Don,t let this go on for more than another 10 days.
Wtite down when you began to feel the way you do, see if there is something that started it off, etc, then note your felings and moods and what you are doing each day, etc, how you deal with the bad days, and then if all fails, you have a good guide for any doctor to look at and possibly see things you hadn,t, and then maybe give you something to make your moods less intrusive and sad etc.
Good luck, and please keep chatting to people, don,t be negative/
