I used to have this one dream. I would have it once a year, for five consecutive years, and each time I would see a little bit more details in the dream.

I don't know if you would consider it a nightmare, but there has been a recurruing theme in my dreams lately where I am getting married and I have this overwhelming, stomach churning anxiety, where I know I am doing the wrong thing. I have had it quite often lately, it just varies in theme, location, and other things happening around that idea.
But you know what they say, dreams are very symbolic so your nightmare probably is a realization of a fear.like i believe mine is, or representative of something else that your sub-concious is feeling.

When I was 14 years old, I used to have a nightmare about a bunch of snakes in the livingroom, and I could'nt reach my dad on the couch. I kept on having the nightmare until my dad died. I was 15 when he died of a heart attack in front of me.
Yes, I have a recurring nightmare of getting angry or hurt and getting into a physical altercation from which I have no effect. Meaning, I can do no damage no matter how many times I pound, hit, or lash out, everything I do is completely ineffectual. Usually, this dream had to do with my violent soon to be ex husband, but a few times it was women and a few times it was some other unknown male.
I also have some recurring dreams about tornados, which is really about fear from one of the few natural disasters that can affect the area I live in.
if you have a dream like that you may have a sleep disorder. in your dream you are under water so something else that is stopping you from taking a breath but in reality you have stopped breathing. its not uncommon but has been known to cause death in rare cases. you should have it checked at a sleep center.

When i was having a hard time at work, I kept on dreaming I'd lost my car in a huge carpark. I think this is something to do with losing control of your 'drive'. Dreams can apparently be quite literal.

I dream that I have to take an exam for Chem 21 (Physical Chemistry), but I'm not prepared because I'd forgotten I was even enrolled in the class.
I have this dream several times a year.
In real life, I dropped the class just in time -- back in 1979.

And to Lorraine*, you don't die if you hit the ground when you fall of a cliff etc, it happens to me all the time.
I have two regularly recurring dreams. One is me being chased by three men with knives and guns, i end up on the roof of a tall building or the edge of a cliff. But no matter how hard i try i always fall and off and wake up with a jump.
Second one is my asleep and my mouth is open, then a huge spider climbs in my mouth and lays 20 or so eggs in the back of my throat. They hatch and all the little spiders are running around in my mouth. I start spitting them out and i wake up.
Don't know what they mean but i am sick of them lol.
